G3 Boats Gains 'Google Maps' Style Visibility Into Production With RFID
Overview
G3 Boats, a Missouri-based manufacturer of recreational watercraft, wanted real-time insight into each boat's progression through production and prompt alerts for bottlenecks and stalled orders—'Google Maps' style visibility for the plant floor.
The Challenge
Manual barcode scanning and system updates limited visibility into each boat's progress through production, creating bottlenecks and wasted time locating in-process vessels across two plants.
The Solution
Zebra RFID printers and readers automatically capture data encoded on passive RFID tags at every step of production. That data renders on a live map of the facility, so everyone can see the production health of each department and the real-time location of every work order across both plants.

It shows work-in-process visibility rendered on a live facility map. Arrowhead delivered a comparable WIP system at Curtiss-Wright with the same software partner; this project was not Arrowhead's.
