Overview

Cepheid, a global leader in molecular diagnostics, wanted to bring PCR test kits to market faster and speed up its supply chain. The team designed a 'Grab & Go' system so associates could collect the raw materials they needed 24/7 and head straight to their lab—without bureaucracy or manual transactions.

The Challenge

Scientists, chemists, and manufacturing associates spent time on non-value-add material handling and paperwork, slowing the flow of raw materials to R&D and limiting PCR test-kit production.

The Solution

Fixed RFID readers at each manufacturing gateway, paired with RFID antennas mounted across the lab, create read zones that automatically detect tagged materials as they move from receiving and stocking to picking and shipping—capturing inventory movement with no manual scanning.

Featured Products & Solutions

Zebra FX9600 Fixed RFID Reader

Rugged fixed reader deployed at each gateway for high-volume, automated reads.

Zebra RFID Antennas

Ceiling- and wall-mounted antennas that form precise read zones throughout the lab.

Who delivered this

It shows fixed-reader gateways capturing material movement with no manual scanning. Arrowhead designs and installs that class of read point; this project is not evidence of an Arrowhead deployment.
